GP&L Updates Regarding COVID-19:

-The City of Garland is working with customers during these difficult times. Although Customer Service is not currently disconnecting for non-payment, we anticipate resuming collection related activities on or about June 15. We strongly encourage customers to contact Utility Customer Service at 972-205-2671 or to discuss their situation. Please include your service address and account number in any correspondence. 

-The Duckworth Utility Services Building is closed until further notice. In-person payments can be made at the Utility Payment Drive-Thru (717 W. State St.) from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Other utility payment options are also available.

-Social distancing keeps customers and GP&L employees safe.

Two Ways to Text Your Outage:

  • If your cell phone number is already associated with your GP&L account, simply text OUT to 972-205-4000.


  • If you don't have a cell phone number associated with your GP&L account, OR if you have multiple accounts, text only the account number (including the dash) for the location that is experiencing the outage to 972-205-4000.

1) Log in to My Account.
Select the Customer Profile tab.

2) Call 972-205-2671
Monday through Friday,
8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

After reporting your outage, you may receive a call back from GP&L if we need more information about the outage.

972-205-4000 is GP&L's dedicated outage text reporting number, so you can add this number as a contact in your phone for future use.

Remember, you can always call 972-205-3000 to report your outage over the phone.
