GP&L Updates Regarding COVID-19:

  • The City of Garland Utility Customer Service Department continues to work with customers who have fallen behind on their utility bills. Please be aware that termination notices have resumed and disconnects will begin the week of June 15. To avoid disruption of service, please contact Customer Service at 972-205-2671 or Please include your service address and account number in any correspondence. You can help your neighbors with their utility bills by contributing to Provide Aid in Dollars (PAID).
  • The Duckworth Utility Services Building is closed until further notice. In-person payments can be made at the Utility Payment Drive-Thru (717 W. State St.) from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Other utility payment options are also available.
  • Social distancing keeps customers and GP&L employees safe.

GP&L has excellent service reliability and consistently beats national averages.
  • GP&L reports an average of .15 interruptions per customer annually and an outage duration of only 8 minutes.
  • Nationally, these scores average .99 interruptions per customer and 60 minutes for length of outage.

GP&L employees work around the clock to ensure customers have the power they need. The utility is proactive in upgrading substations, constructing new electric lines, and maintaining existing lines.
