GP&L's municipally-owned status benefits our customers in many ways. The utility reports to City Council, the community's elected representatives, so decisions are always made with Garland's best interests in mind. Electric rates are set locally and are stable and competitive.
Additionally, a portion of utility revenues is returned to the City's general fund to support municipal services.
Customers can depend on GP&L's reliable service. Power outage frequency and duration are less than state and national averages, and our ongoing line maintenance and proactive tree trimming program ensure you will have the power you need.
GP&L is customer and community focused. When outages do occur, our local electric crews and customer service center provide the best and most immediate service.
We also support the community through a number of other means, such as the EnergySaver Program, the Tree Power Free Tree Giveaway, support for Garland performing arts and partnerships with Garland Independent School District.
