GP&L Recognized for Excellent Service Reliability

RP3 LogoGarland, Texas, July 15, 2016 – Garland Power & Light customers can depend on reliable electric service. The utility has again been recognized as a Reliable Public Power Provider, a national designation presented to utilities by the American Public Power Association. Of the country's more than 2,000 public power utilities, only 219 hold this title. 

 

GPL Reliable graph 2016 croppedSupporting this recognition are GP&L's reliability scores, which beat national averages. On average, GP&L reports .5 interruptions annually per customer and an outage duration of only 22 minutes. Nationally, these scores average .9 per customer and 63 minutes for length of outage.

"GP&L is committed to providing reliable electric service to our customers," said General Manager & CEO Jeff Janke. "That is why we upgrade our substations, construct new electric lines, and proactively maintain existing lines."
